Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
Schools are about to go back in the UK (and I think the US already has) so this week is all about books set in schools. You know me and my caveats – to make it onto this list there can’t just be there’s a school that appears once or twice, it needs to be a major part/setting of story.
Middle Grade:
- ONYEKA AND THE ACADEMY OF THE SUN, by Tolá Okogwu
- HARLEY HITCH AND THE IRON FOREST, by Vashti Hardy
- A KIND OF SPARK, by Elle McNicoll
- DREAD WOOD, by Jennifer Killick
- VOTE FOR EFFIE, by Laura Wood
- WUNDERSMITH; THE CALLING OF MORRIGAN CROW, by Jessica Townsend
- MURDER MOST UNLADYLIKE, by Robin Stevens
- LLAMA OUT LOUD, by Annabelle Sami
- LIBBY AND THE PARISIAN PUZZLE, by Jo Clarke
- WILLOW MOSS AND THE VANISHED KINGDOM, by Dominique Valente

Young Adult:
- A LESSON IN VENGEANCE, by Victoria Lee
- ONE OF US IS LYING, by Karen M. McManu
- WIN LOSE KILL DIE, by Cynthia Murphy
- READ WITH PRIDE, by Lucy Powrie
- A DEADLY EDUCATION, by Naomi Novik
- WICKED LITTLE DEEDS, by Kat Ellis
- I’D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU, BUT THEN I’D HAVE TO KILL YOU, by Allie Carter
- TRULY DEVIOUS, by Maureen Johnson
- ACE OF SPADES, by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
- HOW WE FALL APART, by Katie Zhao

What books set in schools would you add to the list?
These all look inviting, and, oddly, I haven’t read a single one of them.

I did try to stick to UK-based books where possible, so that might be why!

There are so many great books set in schools! School begins next week here in Canada. Maybe we have a similar schedule to what you have in the U.K.?

I love this list because my daughter has been a fan of some of the YA ones and now I have more to add to her TBR. Thanks!

I’ve only read One of Us Is Lying of these, and I was kind of disappointed by it, I think it was a little too hyped for me. Some of the rest of these are on my TBR though: Ace of Spades, A Lesson In Vengeance and Truly Devious.
