Top Ten Tuesday: Books Set in Schools

"Tope Ten Tuesday" in a white font mimicking handwriting on navy starry skies

Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.

Schools are about to go back in the UK (and I think the US already has) so this week is all about books set in schools. You know me and my caveats – to make it onto this list there can’t just be there’s a school that appears once or twice, it needs to be a major part/setting of story.

Middle Grade:

  1. ONYEKA AND THE ACADEMY OF THE SUN, by Tolá Okogwu
  2. HARLEY HITCH AND THE IRON FOREST, by Vashti Hardy
  3. A KIND OF SPARK, by Elle McNicoll
  4. DREAD WOOD, by Jennifer Killick
  5. VOTE FOR EFFIE, by Laura Wood
  6. WUNDERSMITH; THE CALLING OF MORRIGAN CROW, by Jessica Townsend
  7. MURDER MOST UNLADYLIKE, by Robin Stevens
  8. LLAMA OUT LOUD, by Annabelle Sami
  9. LIBBY AND THE PARISIAN PUZZLE, by Jo Clarke
  10. WILLOW MOSS AND THE VANISHED KINGDOM, by Dominique Valente

Young Adult:

  1. A LESSON IN VENGEANCE, by Victoria Lee
  2. ONE OF US IS LYING, by Karen M. McManu
  3. WIN LOSE KILL DIE, by Cynthia Murphy
  4. READ WITH PRIDE, by Lucy Powrie
  5. A DEADLY EDUCATION, by Naomi Novik
  6. WICKED LITTLE DEEDS, by Kat Ellis
  7. I’D TELL YOU I LOVE YOU, BUT THEN I’D HAVE TO KILL YOU, by Allie Carter
  8. TRULY DEVIOUS, by Maureen Johnson
  9. ACE OF SPADES, by Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
  10. HOW WE FALL APART, by Katie Zhao

What books set in schools would you add to the list?
