Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun.
This week is all about the seconds, minutes, hours, days, weeks, seasons, and years in the titles of books. Here are twenty (some of which are a bit more tangential) titles arranged in increasing order of time unit.
- EVERDAY ANGEL – SECOND CHANCES, by V. E. Schwab
- SECOND STAR TO THE LEFT, by Megan Van Dyke
- THE SMOKING HOURGLASS, by Jennifer Bell
- THE THIRTEENTH HOUR, by Trudie Skies
- MAY DAY and JUDGEMENT DAY, by Josie Jaffrey
- A SONG FOR A NEW DAY, by Sarah Pinsker
- WILLOW MOSS AND THE LOST DAY, by Dominique Valente
- THE THURSDAY MURDER CLUB, by Richard Osman
- THE FRIDAY EDITION, by Betta Ferrendelli
- THIS WILL BE FUNNY SOMEDAY, by Katie Henry
- EVERYDAY SEXISM, by Laura Bates
- THE EMBER DAYS, by Rose Edwards
- THE DARK DAYS CLUB, by Alison Goodman
- THE EDITORIAL PAGE OF THE FALCHESTER WEEKLY, by Marie Brenan
- THE BONE SEASON, by Samantha Shannon
- EMPRESS OF ALL SEASONS, by Emiko Jean
- A SEASON OF SPELLS, by Sylvia Izzo Hunter
- THE FIFTH SEASON, by N. K. Jemisin
- YEAR OF THE REAPER, by Makiia Lucier
- THE HUNDRED-YEAR-OLD MAN WHO CLIMBED OUT THE WINDOW AND DISAPPEARED, by Jonas Jonasson

What books can you think of that feature units of time?
Wow! You found a lot of titles!

I just put every word I could think of to do with a unit of time into my blog’s internal media search bar and saw what came up!

So many books, I struggled with 10 but also included The Fifth Season. Here’s mine: https://susanlynknits.com/2022/06/07/top-ten-tuesday-books-with-a-unit-of-time-in-the-title/

I would have struggled if “day” wasn’t so common in SFF titles!

TTT posts have become a lot easier since I discovered that you can search though the media stored on your website – I can let the search function do the work rather than my brain!

(On WordPress) on the blogging/back end of the website, there’s media on the panel and you can search through that

Great impressive list. I can’t believe you had 20 books for this week’s prompt. I also listed The Bone Season and The Year of the Reaper 🙂

I was stuck on not-quite 20 for a while, hence a few are a bit tenuous!

Oh Everyday Sexism, I never would have thought of that one. I keep meaning to read it but haven’t been in a non-fiction mood.

That one, admittedly, was one of the “I need a few more to round up to a multiple of 10 – what contains day but could be argued as not a unit of time?” entries!
