Top Ten Tuesday is a fun weekly meme, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Everyone is welcome to join in the fun. This was actually the prompt from the 1st of February, but as that was the first of the month, I had the usual round-up instead and have moved the prompt to today instead (as I preferred the prompt over this week’s.)
It was so easy to put together a list of books with character names for MG, but significantly harder for YA!
Middle Grade:
- ARU SHAH AND THE END OF TIME, by Roshani Chokshi
- THE BEAST AND THE BETHANY, by Jack Meggitt-Phillips
- HARLEY HITCH AND THE IRON FOREST, by Vashti Hardy
- AMARI AND THE NIGHT BROTHERS, by B. B. Alston
- NEVERMOOR THE TRIALS OF MORRIGAN CROW, by Jessica Townsend
- MAYA AND THE RISING DARK, by Rena Barron
- TWELVE AND THE FROZEN FOREST, by Aishling Fowler
- WILLOW MOSS AND THE LOST DAY, by Dominique Valente
- TILLY AND THE BOOKWANDERS, by Anna James
- VOTE FOR EFFIE, by Laura Wood

Young Adult:
- MINA AND THE UNDEAD, by Amy McCaw
- THE GUINEVERE DECEPTION, by Kiersten White
- TERCIEL AND ELINOR, by Garth Nix
- FABLE, by Adrienne Young
- STATE OF SORROW, by Melinda Salisbury
- CINDER, by Marissa Meyer
- AURORA RISING, by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
- THE DARK DESCENT OF ELIZABETH FRANKENSTEIN, by Kiersten White
- SADIE, by Courtney Summers
- THE LAST VOYAGE OF POE BLYTHE, by Ally Condie

What books with character names as titles have you read?
Fantastic list(s) – I am so looking forward to reading the Morrigan Crow books to my daughter! I have only heard good things about them, and about Amari. These are the books I found almost too good to review properly!

Ooh, do enjoy Morrigan Crow (Book 4 this year I think?) and Amari (Book 2 rather soon!)

MG is so much fun – I’ve got a load of review copies to read, and then I plan on going on an MG binge!

I’ve read Cinder but none of the others of these! You’re right, it is much easier to find MG books with character names in the titles, which was what most of my list from 1st Feb was.

There’s certainly a naming pattern in MG books that makes it easier for that age range!
